A Dream Come True...

Last spring, a local magazine came to take pictures of our house...
I thought they were going to just focus on the garden and landscape, but it turned into being more of a focus on the house...

It was so stressful trying to remove any sign of children and clutter! It's an uphill battle to begin with, but to make it "picture ready" was a bit of a nightmare!

But nevertheless, it's here! My neighbor called me this afternoon to tell me that she had just gotten the new issue with us featured in the mail. The kids were so excited to see our family's picture! We were all jumping up and down and squealing!

Anyway, here it is...I tried scanning the pictures, but I wasn't able to enlarge them--so I took actual photos of the pages themselves and loaded them onto smugmug. The images are a bit blurry because I didn't use my flash, but you can still get the jist...

This is the ultimate souvenir for me from a place that I simply adore!

P.S.--If only our rooms were actually as huge as these pictures are depicting! I can't get over how distorted they are--(for those of you who have actually been in my house, you'll totally know what I'm talking about)

  4. your bedroom looks HUGE!!!! I remember painting those dang ceiling beams. I hated your house by the time we were done with all of that trim. (not really, i just hated the woman who decided to stencil huge borders in EVERY ROOM!) Those pictures look really great!

I still can't believe I am related to someone with awesome style like you. Then there is the exact opposite end of the style spectrum... ME. We would totally make the cover of Butler Style and white trash weekly magazine. :) congrats again!

  6. Katie, I remember painting those beams, too! Little did I know that I was pregnant with Reilly at the time!--(I had to keep peeing--and you thought it was a bladder infection)

You were so selfless to come and help me like that...I appreciated it so much!--We had primer in our hair for months after that, I swear!

Regarding your style--Are you kidding me?!--You've got wonderful style! You're so unbelievably creative! Everything you touch turns to gold! Look out, Butler, Katie's in the house!

  10. oh, and if you all will focus on the beautiful kitchen floor,,,, another Katie eismann johnson special. the paint, anyways. I have a picture of me somewhere sitting on the floor measuring out all the lines and squaring everything up. It really was fun though. I havae fond memories of that time!

maybe it was all those paint fumes that have shaped Reilly into who she is today. :)

It's beautiful. Lovely comforting colors. I do admire your landscaping too! Good for you! The whole thing is just awesome!
