Partners in Crime...

I'm getting another cold...!

I've been feeling it coming on for the past few days, but have been in denial.

Who gets a cold in late spring?!--I've been racking my brains trying to figure out where I could have picked it up from and then it hit me...

These are the culprits!
Look at them just sitting there laughing and mocking me!
They're so smug!

I took Ellie to the library a few days ago and agreed to let her check out 2 puppets. Our library has huge bins of puppets that they allow kids to play with and borrow. I don't usually let the girls take them home because of the germ factors, but I was trying to redeem myself the other day since I've been on a yelling jag, lately.

See where niceness will get you?

The irony of the whole thing is that she picked out a RACCOON and a FOX for crying out loud!

Both are extreme enemies to ducks and therefore ME! I should have known they'd find a way to make my life miserable.

Forgive me for taking a bit of a blogging break while I get the cobwebs out of my head...

**Would you let your kids check out these bacteria traps?

  1. Sure, why not. I am going to be like the cockroaches that survive with the world end, because I am so casual about germs.

  2. oh man- i about lost it when i read, "both are extreme enemies to ducks!" how have i never realized this?!?

so when you posted this, i immediately thought of this lysol commercial i just saw, with someone spraying down stuffed animals and carpeted surfaces...

now i don't know whether to even break out the library books i've got...seems a little risky.

hopefully the fox and racoon don't bring you swine flu! puppets are evil...

  4. You are such an honest blogger--I love reading your posts--they are mixed with sarcasm and realism, and tenderness.

  5. Yes, we have ben checking out toys and games from the library for the last 20 years. I think the germs on books are as bad as the germs on puppets to tell you the truth. People put their fingers in their mouths to moisten them to turn the pages! Yuck! Are your girls sick? If not, maybe the germs came from somewhere else. It is common here in Utah to get colds after it starts to warm up. Go figure! Here's to warmth and wellness!

  6. I probably wouldn't let them check out the "bacteria traps". I was so mean I never let them play in the "Playlands" at McDonald's either.

On another note, I have used whey protein that I picked up at Walmart for like $15.00. Right now I am using Soy protein because it is lower in fat and calories. I got it at Sams club for about the same price.

  7. Feel better soon! We never borrowed puppets, but my kids were always horrified when other kids talked about Chucky E Cheese because I had them convinced it was the dirtiest place on earth.

  8. yeah. blame it on Ellie. I know you secretly like to have puppet shows with Brian when the kids go to bed. :)

hope you are feeling better soon.

  9. ps, we go to the library and don't check out any books. We just spread our DNA on the blocks, stuffed animals, and other toys there. (evil laughter) Josie has a great time passing her sticky toddler germs on to other kids.

  10. Well ... first, let me express my sympathy that you have a cold in late spring ... second, I am hardpressed to let my kids check out even the books. Because the last time we checked out books from the library they were 5 days late. And there were like 11 books. And they fined us $140.00. I forget the logistics of their fines. But that's what it worked out to and that's what I paid. So, because we have a lot going on and we might end up returning them a day or two late I have not let my kids check out books in over a year. I know, mean Mom. I'm considering participating in the summer reading program but I'd really have to be on my toes because that can really add up to a lot of money if the books are not on time!

  11. I didn't know one could check out puppets at the library. maybe instead of bringing those germ-infested things home, Ellie could make her own sock puppets:-) I hope your cold passes quickly!!
